The president of Anprotec, Adriana Ferreira de Faria, has been appointed as an alternate member of the National Council of Science and Technology (CCT), according to an ordinance published in the Official Gazette of the Union on Tuesday (11/05). Her term will run for three years, ending in August 2028.
The CCT is an advisory body linked to the President of the Republic, responsible for guiding the formulation and execution of national policy in science, technology and innovation. It sets strategic priorities and proposals for the country’s scientific and technological development.
Adriana Faria will serve as alternate to counsellor Tanara Lauschner, representing producers and users of science and technology. The appointment also reflects the recognition of Anprotec’s institutional work and its strategic importance within the national innovation ecosystem.
Adriana stated that being part of the CCT is a significant honour, noting that the nomination highlights both her own professional path and, above all, the essential role of innovation environments in strengthening Brazil’s science, technology and innovation landscape.
She also emphasised the organisation’s commitment to contributing to public policy: Anprotec serves as a strategic connector between universities, government and the productive sector. Innovation environments are the central point of the triple helix, where academic knowledge is transformed into innovation that reaches society. She brings to the council the collective experience of this network, which understands the challenges and opportunities of innovation across all regions of Brazil. Her aim is to support policies that strengthen innovative entrepreneurship and promote sustainable and inclusive economic development.
Anprotec represents more than 400 innovation environments across Brazil, including incubators, accelerators, science and technology parks and coworking spaces, and is recognised nationally for its role in supporting innovative entrepreneurship and the development of innovation ecosystems.
