APTE, together with TecParques and Tecnópole, will host the 19th Iberian Meeting of Science and Technology Parks from 5–7 October 2026 in Ourense, Spain.

Theme: Strategic Technologies in Aerospace, Security and Defence This year’s edition puts the spotlight on strategic technologies within the aerospace, security and defence sectors — reflecting the growing role innovation ecosystems play in these strategically important industries.

The meeting brings together representatives from science and technology parks across Spain and Portugal to exchange experiences, showcase noteworthy initiatives, and foster new collaboration opportunities, combining working sessions, institutional meetings and networking activities.

Programme highlights:

• 5 October — A roundtable of science and technology parks opens proceedings, followed by a technical staff meeting, APTE’s Executive Committee meeting, and APTE’s General Assembly. The day wraps with a site visit and networking dinner.
• 6 October — The first full working day of the Iberian Meeting runs through the day, followed by an excursion to the Ribeira Sacra region and a networking dinner featuring “twinning” pitches between parks.
• 7 October — Delegates transfer to Santiago de Compostela for the second working day, followed by the presentation of the host for the 20th Iberian Meeting, the closing ceremony, and a farewell reception before returning to Ourense.

The gathering underscores the strength of cross-border collaboration between the Spanish and Portuguese science park networks, with an agenda balancing strategic sector discussion, institutional governance, and relationship-building across the peninsula’s innovation ecosystem.
