On 3 November 2025, CARNET—Barcelona’s mobility research and innovation hub linked to the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC)—held a new edition of the Symposium on Urban Mobility Challenges at 1–3 Carrer de Jordi Girona, Barcelona, bringing together key actors from industry, academia, and the public sector.
Running from 09:00 to 14:00 CET, the event provided a focused platform for discussion on some of the most relevant transformations shaping the future of urban mobility. This year’s symposium explored themes such as the digitalisation of transport systems, the growing role of digital twins in mobility planning, and the societal impacts of connected and autonomous vehicle technologies.
Participants included mobility experts, researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders who examined current trends, shared practical insights, and highlighted the real-world challenges of implementing new mobility solutions. The symposium continued its tradition of promoting open dialogue and cross-sector collaboration to advance more sustainable, efficient, and citizen-centred urban transport systems.
The event reaffirmed CARNET’s role as a leading contributor to mobility innovation in Europe and provided valuable perspectives for organisations working to modernise and decarbonise urban transport.
